Q: Huh?
A: Five minutes on the wheel...and a lifetime on the never ending path to perfection.
What I mean is...experience makes the pots better!
And there is a lot more than wheel work in making a piece of pottery.

First I prepare the clay - removing all air pockets - and bringing it to the correct consistency for throwing. Then I throw the mug on the wheel and let the pot dry to leather-hard. I add the handle. Then the pot is thoroughly dried, bisque fired, decorated and glazed ( I create and mix my own glazes.) Next comes the glaze firing. Then there are final preparations, such as sanding off any rough spots on the base of the pot so it doesn't scratch the dining-room table. After that there is pricing and a few more things...and the pot is ready for the showroom.
